Advanced Assignments:
Read chapter 1 (A Book On C) in detail. Key in each of the sample programs, compile them, and run them. The authors discuss each part, of each program, in great detail. Make sure you understand each detail. If you run into any problems e-mail me right away. Use the subject line: APUE xxxxxxx Where xxxxxxx is your last name.

The following section is for students enrolled in the Summer 2009 class:
Subscribe to the class discussion list now. To suscribe: send an e-mail to majordomo@cis.sac.accd.edu it does not matter what the subject is.
The body of your e-mail should have two lines:

subscribe apue
end

Majordomo will send you back a confirmation. Reply to the confirmation. Copy the auth line. Put it as the first line in the body of your reply. The very next line should be end. Majordomo will send you back a welcome. Once you are a member of the list you can send e-mails to: apue@cis.sac.accd.edu

Begin reading the Stevens book. Work all of the exercises in chapter one before the first day of class. Do not use the the "apue.h" header file. Include each header file that is necessary--and only the ones necessary. (Hint: grep is your friend.)

Send me an e-mail as soon as you are enrolled in the class. I will send a copy of figure 1.4 to you the way you are to do all of the examples. Note the wrapper functions.

Summer classes go fast...if you run into any problems at, post them to the majordomo list, for this course, right away.
