The book we are using for ITSC1311 is: HTML, XHTML and Dynamic HTML by Patrick Carey, published by Course Technology, ISBN 0-619-26748-8.

MAJOR ASSIGNMENTS:

Completed projects need to be in my mailbox by midnight as scheduled in course outline. Points will be deducted when you turn your work in late (up to 20 points per week). Documentation must be provided by the student stating why the project is late. Assignments more than 2 weeks late are unacceptable.

Your grade will be based on final exam (40%), midterm project (20%)
attendance (10%), Storyboard (10%), Projects (from the book - 20%)

Week 1 thru 7: Basic HTML/XHTML
Creating, Formatting, Publishing a 3 page web site including 1 image, linked pages, and a table. FTP, Font control, Anchors.
Imaging for the web using Color depth, File sizes, File formats, Transparency, Hexidecimal colors.
Setting up your homepage creating a rough draft for a storyboard
Working with Tables

Weeks 8-14: Site Planning, CSS, and JavaScript
Using Frames and Layers. Using a cohesive layout. Converting layers to tables.
Advanced layout with tables. Image maps. Balancing image file size and quality.
Image Alignment: Making pages display quickly. Providing a preview image.
Creating a storyboard with frames.

Weeks 15-16: Using Graphics and Interactivity
Creating Banners & Buttons. Working with Timelines. Forms.
Java Scripting.
Final Storyboard due for approval for final project.

Complete Final Assignment.
